Extra Charges

PADA is run by a small team with limited availability. Services not included in the residency programme are the responsability of artists to hire and pay for separately.

On the PDF link is a list of possible extra costs that are important to take into consideration when preparing for your stay in residence. Other extra services or assistance not mentioned should be discussed with the PADA staff in good time.

Funding your residency.

If you are applying for funding we are very happy to help by providing supporting documents.

It is important that you identify the appropriate fund and provide us with all the information that should be included in the support.

Over the last 6 years we have compiled a list of funding resources and opportunities.

Planning for your residency project.

To make the most of your time at PADA it can be useful to sketch out a rough plan for the residency period and to plan in advance the materials you may need.

Here are links to various art shops and other useful materials specialists. If you cant find what you need let us know and we can help.

We have good workshops for the production of artworks, stretchers and painting panels but artists will be responsible for purchasing materials.

Travelling and getting to PADA.

When booking your flight and planning your journey please take into consideration the arrival time and your check in time at PADA. Due to our tight residency schedule it is often difficult to accommodate early check-in as well late check outs.

Once your journey details are confirmed, please send us your flight details so we can plan arrival times.

Check-in starts from 2pm on the day of arrivals.

more info:

Arrivals start at 2pm on the first day of the residency.

It is best to arrive at the studios and then we can take you to the accommodation. Address and directions are on the information pack. Times will be arranged with each artist closer to the start.

As covered in the contract sent previously, we take a refundable security deposit on arrival of €150. This can be paid in cash. We will accept the equivalent in your local currency in order to cut down on transfer fees.

The plans for the first day are the following:

Checking-in and first day.

2pm - Arrivals
Arrive at the studios. We will take you to the accommodation where you can get settled and unpack. We will be in and out of the studios and accommodation as we welcome everybody.

5pm - Studio Introduction.
Meet at the studios for an introduction to the facilities and area. Tim will go through some housekeeping rules and how to’s. We will then walk out to some parts of the surrounding industrial park area so you can start to get your bearings.

7pm - Dinner and Drinks.
At 7pm we will head into Barreiro for a drink and then go to a restaurant for dinner. It is a nice chance to relax and get to know each other socially. We will be on hand to help translate and recommend local dishes. If you have any dietary requirements let us know in advance. Generally we split the bill at the end of the night and it works out at €20/person including drinks.
