Autumn/Winter 2024/25 Residency

Our Residency Programme welcomes artists from different disciplines to stay from 1 to 2 months.

Applications for Autumn/Winter 2024/25 are opening soon.
Deadline for applying is 30th April 2024.

Before applying

Make sure you read and familiarise yourself with the program and the residency guidelines before applying.

We will favour artists who have researched and propose projects suitable to the residency and the surrounding environment.

The provisional residency periods for Autumn/Winter 2024/25 are as following:

  • OCT/NOV (7th October - 2nd December)

  • JAN (2nd - 29th January)

  • FEB/MAR (3rd February - 31st March)

Residencies are for an agreed period of 1 month or 2 months and will begin and end in the dates stated.

How to apply

Application is done via an Open Call.

The current Open Call deadline is 30th April 2024.

This is what you will need to apply and begin your preparations.

  • Cover letter (max. 300 words)
    Include name, email, address, phone number & nationality/where you are based

  • Preferred dates and duration of stay (1 – 2 months)

  • Artist’s statement (max. 300 words)
    Describe your practice/research and areas of interest

  • Project proposal (max. 300 words)
    Outline your residency project, motivation & expectations

  • Sustainability statement
    A few sentences how your project will minimise its impact on the environment

  • Portfolio (5 -10 images)
    Include dimensions, technique, title and date

  • CV

Selection criteria

• Quality and commitment of work.

• Applications that take into consideration PADA´s unique location and facilities.

• Unique perspective and approach.

• Interest and willingness to work and live in a community of artists.

• Clarity and focus of proposal.

After applying

We will select Artists-in-Residence based on their body of work, CV and proposed project.

Artists will be informed by the 15th May about the success of the application.

If successful, selected artists will be asked to pay a 50% deposit in order to secure a place in the residency programme.

We encourage artists to apply for individual funding to cover the residency costs. Make sure to inform us as soon as possible when applying for funding.  We help all successful applicants with letters of support.

Residencies are for an agreed period between 1 or 2 months and will begin and end in the dates stated above, so artists should arrange transport to arrive or depart on these dates.
